Actually that's exactly what Mike Forde is doing. He's gone up to Dublin to do a programming class for out of work peoples.

tell me about it... hundreds of people out of work, but such a shortage of engineers.

Every other week there's another recruiter trying to get people for some company in Ireland, ringing around and asking you to pass on to anyone who's interested.

I think it's such a shame people who are out of work couldn't get trained up real quick and get those jobs - but they probably won't wait 4 years+ for people to get the qualifications or experience...

Like I said, must be that time of the year and/or the serious shortage of qualified nerds continues.

Seriously though, how awesome is it to be computer nerd these days Every week you see at least one tech company announcing jobs. Granted a lot could be in marketing, sales etc, not just engineering. I see IBM announced several hundred this morning in Dublin.

Must be that time of year again, a few agencies have dusted off my CV and have been calling over the past week. One them was looking for people mainly in Galway so I figured I'd pass on her details in case ye know anyone looking...
